<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform paper handling such as saddle stitch and center fold compactly with low cost, high accuracy, high efficiency, and high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: This paper handling device having a handling means for applying a predetermined handling to paper after image formation comprises a conveying means for conveying paper or paper bundle via a conveying roller and a detecting means for detecting a conveying distance of the paper or paper bundle conveyed by the conveying means. The detecting means is disposed on the opposite side to a conveyance route of the paper or paper bundle, and comprises a sensor for detecting the image of the paper or paper bundle passing the conveyance route and a control means for calculating the conveying distance based on the detection output of the sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
