The device (1) has a guiding unit extending above a sampling plane of a platter and running in a horizontal direction. A tone arm (5) is moveable along the guiding unit, and a tone accepter (7) is arranged in a sampling end of the tone arm, where the tone arm is supported spaced apart from the tone accepter by using a roller arrangement in the guiding unit. The guiding unit has a groove-like outline running in a longitudinal direction of the guiding unit. Rollers of the roller arrangement are guided in the longitudinal direction one behind the other and arranged in the groove-like outline.
