A part (3) engageable with a patient's skin can be produced by (a) providing a liquid-absorbing strip with yarns (2) and an active filler (4) having therapeutically or cosmetically beneficial properties, which filler is bonded to the yarns and advantageously made of green clay in a dry state at this stage; (b) cutting said strip to fit the shape (3) of the area of skin to be covered; and (c) pressing a peripheral finishing trim (31) at or adjacent to the edge of said shape during or after the cutting step. |
