摘要 <p>A dry, free-flowing vitamin preparation, suitable particularly for mixture with the usual cattle and poultry feeds in that the vitamin content after a period of storage in the presence of mineral constituents is at least 80 per cent of the vitamin content after storage for the same period without mineral constituents, is made by the spraying into warm gas of a dispersion of oil containing Vitamin A, Vitamin D, or both vitamins in an aqueous liquid containing gelatine and a water-soluble carbohydrate, e.g. a hexose or disaccharide, particularly glucose or lactose. The preparation preferably contains more than 20 I.U./g. of Vitamin A and/or more than 10 I.U./g. of Vitamin D. The aqueous liquid may contain other proteins such as lactalbumin or blood albumen and may contain pectin, agar-agar, carragheen, an alginate, or a cellulose derivative such as carboxymethylcellulose or methyl cellulose. The aqueous liquid may contain substances which combine with ions of metals catalysing oxidation of vitamins or which otherwise deter oxidation of vitamins or which otherwise deter oxidation of vitamins, e.g. phospholipids such as lecithin, gallic acid and esters thereof, phosphoric, pyrophosphoric, citric, thiopropionic and ascorbic acids, alkali metal sulphides, sorbitol, tocopherols, nordihydroguaiaretic acid, guaiacum resin, tertiary butyl hydroxyanisole, hydroquinone, polyphenols. The dispersion sprayed may contain 50 per cent of solids, and is preferably of viscosity not more than 70 DEG Engler at 55 DEG C. The test mineral mixture contains ground and washed chalk, gelatine-free bone flour, calcium phosphate, iodized kitchen salt, and magnesium, ferrous, copper, manganese and cobalt sulphates.ALSO:A dry, free-flowing vitamin preparation which after storage in the presence of mineral constituents retains at least 80 per cent of the vitamin content after storage for the same period without mineral constituents is made by the spraying into warm gas of a dispersion of oil containing vitamin A, vitamin D, or both vitamins in an aqueous liquid containing gelatine and a water-soluble carbohydrate, e.g. a hexose or disaccharide, particularly glucose or lactose.
