A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to suppress an EMI(ElectroMagnetic Interference) by preventing a terminal voltage across a resonance inductor from abruptly increasing. A plasma display device includes a logic controller(100), drivers(120,140,160), and a display panel. The logic controller receives an image signal and generates a control signal according to the image signal. The drivers receive the image and control signals, generate driving signals for outputting the image signal, and include an energy recovery portion which recollects and resupplies marginal power while generating the driving signals. The display panel outputs an image corresponding to the image signal according to the driving signals. The energy recovery portion includes a bypass portion having a resonance inductor, at least one diode, and at least one switch. A first terminal of the resonance inductor is connected to the display panel, while a second terminal is connected to a storage capacitor. The diode is parallel-connected to the resonance inductor and defines a bypass path between the first and second terminals. The switch controls a voltage flow between the diode and the bypass path.
