The device has an ankle retaining strap (21) forming a retaining buckle and fixed on a rear retaining piece. The strap is arranged such that an end of the strap is fixed to a lateral part (15a) of the retaining piece, and a free end is engaged in a passage (22a) or passage (22b) of a hooking piece fixed to another lateral part (15b). The strap comprises a pre-adjustment unit formed by the passages, and a final adjustment unit formed by a self-adhesive band system (25) e.g. Velcro(RTM: hook and loop fasteners). The pre-adjustment unit pre-adjusts length of the strap.
