An LCD manufacturing method and an LCD manufactured by the same method are provided to reduce process facilities and save process time by simultaneously forming a spacer and a first color filter pattern. Black matrixes(121,122,123) for defining first to third pixel areas are formed on an insulating substrate(100). A color filter layer is formed on an upper part of the black matrix and on the insulating substrate exposed by the black matrix. An organic layer for upper spacer is formed on the color filter layer. By simultaneously patterning the color filter layer and the organic layer for upper spacer, a first color filter pattern(131) is formed on the first pixel area. A lower spacer(141a) is formed on the black matrix. And an upper spacer(141b) is formed on the lower spacer.
