In a brush of the type formed from tufts of bristles held in position by twisted double wires for cleaning the bowls or pans of water closets the bristles are double trimmed in the centre of their length to form two conical portions and bent into loop form the pointed end being finally bent at right angles to the loop and the ends of the wires inserted into bores in a handle. The bristles are secured in the usual manner between twisted double wires and double trimmed to form two conical portions, the wires being then bent into loop form as shown in Fig. 2 and then at right angles to the loop as shown in Fig. 1 to form a pointed brush. The bristles which are trimmed may be stiffer than those forming the body of the brush.
