A method and a system for providing a virtual stock trading service are provided to promote users, who use a search engine, are interested in the virtual stock trading service provided from the search engine, and join in trade of virtual stocks issued from resource domains, to use the search engine continuously. A resource locater search server(102) accesses/searches a resource locator database(104) by responding to a query received from a terminal(100) through the network(101) and obtains a search result. The resource locator database stores resource locators for resource domains forming a search pool. The resource locater search server updates a search index of the resource domains and reflects the search result to a resource domain database(105) whenever the search is performed. A stock trading management server(103) monitors fluctuation of the search index of the resource domains, and classifies the resource domains into an unlisted resource domain, a candidate resource domain and a listed resource domain. The stock trading management server generates and updates information for the resource domain included in the resource domain database.
