A data writing method of an optical disk device is provided to prevent data writing error by setting a valid data area suitable for characteristics of an optical disk on a reference of a manufacture ID and performing data writing operation within the valid data area. A data writing method of an optical disk device comprises the steps of: identifying a manufacture ID of an optical disk recorded in a lead-in area of the optical disk(S11); searching a writing end address stored associated with the identified manufacture ID out of writing end addresses classified by manufacture ID stored in a non-volatile memory in the device(S12~S14); and setting a valid data area of the optical disk up to the searched writing end address for performing data writing operation(S15,S16).
