PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying method which can dry a nonionic alkylene oxide water-soluble resin efficiently in a short time to a low water content and the nonionic alkylene oxide water-soluble resin dried by the method. SOLUTION: The nonionic alkylene oxide water-soluble resin is placed in a container, and the container is decompressed to the degree of decompression of 150 mmHg or below. While the degree of decompression is kept, a dry gas having a dew point not exceeding DP calculated by formula (1) [wherein Vac is the degree of decompression (mmHg)] is introduced into the container in an amount of at least V calculated by formula (2) [wherein T is the temperature of the container (°C) and V<SB>0</SB>is the volume of the container (ml)].
