METHOD FOR EFFICIENT RADIO RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

A method for effectively managing radio resources is provided to accurately determine radio resources that can be used by a UE(User Equipment) when the UE is accepted to a cell by using proper information regarding a receiver performance of the UE. A UE is in an idle mode or in a connection mode(1). A Node B periodically transmits data regarding resources used in a cell to a CRNC(Controlling Radio Network Controller)(2). The UE transmits a message to request a certain service from an SRNC(Serving Radio Network Controller)(3). The UE or a CN(Core Network) transmits a message requesting setup of a new flow or a new RB(Radio Bearer) to the SRNC(4). The SRNC performs an admission control procedure(5). If the SRNC and the CRNC are not arranged in parallel, the SRNC instructs the CRNC to establish an RL(Radio Link), or add a new RB to context of the UE if a RL has been already established(6). The CRNC performs an admission control procedure including its own available additional information(7). The CRNC instructs the Node B to set an RL or a new flow according to the service requested by the UE(8). The Node B performs an admission control procedure in consideration of the performance of a receiver of the UE(9). When the admission control is successful, the Node B reports the CRNC that the RL, the RB or the new flow has been successfully set(10). If the admission control is successful, the SRNC allocates required resources to the UE(12). The UE uses the R L, the RB or the new flow(13). The SRNC or the CRNC initiates releasing of a UE having a lower priority or a UE that has more power(14).
