Class 20(iii) Mechanism for controlling the upper adjustable pane 2 of a vehicle window having a fixed lower pane 4 comprises a strut 6 which is secured by brackets 5, 7 respectively to the fixed pane 4 and a window frame 3 intermediate the sides of the latter, and a jockey 10 which is carried by the adjustable pane 2. The jockey comprises a member 10 having a bracket 9 for securing it to the pane 2, and a lever 13 which is pivotally mounted to the sides 12 of the member 10 by a pin 23 which extends through openings 25 in the two parts, coil springs round the pin 23 urging a pawl bar 17 carried by the lever 13 into one of a number of notches 20 formed along the strut 6. The notches are formed with an upper surface 22, Fig. 2, at a small angle to the surface of the strut 6 and a lower surface 21 inclined downwardly at a steep angle to the surface of the strut so that the pane 2 is easily released for adjustment when the two members are pressed together. Apertures 11, 19 are provided in the members 10, 13 to receive the strut 6. |
