A water purification system is provided to perform maintenance and management of the water purification system beneficially and to obtain excellent water purification performance. A water purification system comprises: a physical water stream forming device(10) which is floated on the surface of water of a target water area to be purified, and includes a floating type float(13), a suction hose(11) of which an upper end is fixed to the floating type float, a length adjusting member installed on the floating type float, an impeller rotatably installed on the floating type float, a drive motor installed on the floating type float, and a solar generator; and a water surface installation type microbe inhabitation media(20) which is floated on the surface of water of the target water area and includes a buoyancy body, and floating ribbons in which microbe inhabitation holes are formed, and which are fixed to the buoyancy body, or a bottom installation type microbe inhabitation media(30) which is installed on a bottom part(103) of the target water area, and includes a fixing body settled on the bottom of the target water system, and floating ribbons in which microbe inhabitation holes are formed, and which are fixed to the fixing body, wherein a circulating water stream is formed by the physical water stream forming device operated by solar energy to forcibly pull up deep water(102) of the target water area to a surface layer of the target water area and naturally flow surface water(101) of the target water area to a deep layer of the water area.
