A plastic thin film waveguide, a manufacturing method thereof, and an anti-pinch sensor are provided to implement a manual assembly of a single mode optical waveguide by facilitating an assembly process of a photodiode with respect to an optical source. An anti-pinch sensor includes a plastic thin film waveguide(1), an optical source(2), and a photodiode(3). The plastic thin film waveguide includes a plastic film type core(12) and upper and lower claddings(11,13). The plastic film type core has a constant refractive index and passes light therein. The upper and lower claddings are formed on upper and lower portions of the core, respectively, and made of the same material as the core. The upper and lower claddings have different refractive indexes. The optical source emits light into the waveguide. The photodiode detects the light intensity, which is outputted from the waveguide. When an object(4) is pinched at a portion of the waveguide, a portion of light is leaked and the light intensity is changed.
