A gripper assembly for a rotary packing machine is provided to stably and conveniently perform package by supporting both ends of a packing bag with a fixed grip piece and a rotary grip piece through elastic force of a spring. A gripper assembly for a rotary packing machine(1) includes a turntable(10), a gripper(20), and gripper operation units. The turntable is rotatably installed in the rotary packing machine. The gripper has a fixed grip piece(21) and a rotary grip piece(22) at a front end, a push rod(27) connected to the rotary grip piece to move back and forth, and a spring(29) for elastically supporting the push rod to closely contact the rotary grip piece to the fixed grip piece and is mounted on the turntable. The gripper operation units have pushers. The pushers move the push rod of the gripper back and forth by a power transmission device so that the rotary grip piece is in contact with or separated from the fixed grip piece.
