A display apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to test the display apparatus quickly when a display module is changed by arranging a memory part in the display module and storing characteristic information on the display part. A display apparatus(100) comprises a display module(30), a display part(33), a main circuit part(10), and a memory part(35). The display part, which is arranged in the display module, displays images. The main circuit part images the image signal inputted on the basis of characteristic information of the display part when power is on and transports the image signal to the display module. The memory part, which is arranged in the display part, stores the characteristic information on the display part. The main circuit part includes an image processing part(13) and a control part(15).
