An apparatus and a method for supporting terminal mobility of a home network are provided to solve a problem that each network uses a different type of address system and programming, making functions of a home gateway complicated, and when a type of a physical network of a device is changed, an application layer should be changed. A home gateway(100) provides a mapped virtual address and physical address including base station information and function information of a device(200). The device receives a corresponding message via a base station that administers the device with reference to the virtual address information and the address information stored in the home gateway. A data receiving unit(101) receives a packet from an external network. A data analyzing unit(102) analyzes a destination address of data received via the data receiving unit. A data transmission unit(103) transfers data to a port mapped to the analyzed destination address. A device recognizing unit(104) recognizes a type of a connected device and maps a virtual address of the recognized device to a physical address. A virtual address table(105) stores the virtual address recognized by the device recognizing unit and the physical address.
