COOLING APPARATUS AND TRAIN DRIVED ELECTRIC POWER INCLUDING THE SAME

A cooling device and an electric rail car including the same are provided to cool a thyristor and a diode using a small amount of refrigerant by restrictively supplying the refrigerant for cooling the thyristor and the diode into a heat pipe. A cooling device comprises a power control circuit receiving a first voltage and outputting a second voltage to cool a first device and a second device. A clamping unit has first cooling blocks(12a,12b) for clamping the first device and second cooling blocks(14a,14b) for clamping the second device. A heat exchanger(20) has plural first heat pipes upwardly extending from the first cooling block at a desired inclined angle and plural second heat pipes upwardly extending from the second cooling block at a desired inclined angle.
