SENSOR ASSISTED VIDEO COMPRESSION

摘要

A sensor assisted video system and a video compression method are provided to determine the motion vector necessary for the video data compression effectively by estimating optical flow in the view of a camera using a sensor information for the present moving state of the vehicle. A digital video system of a vehicle includes a video camera(120), at least one sensor(130-132), an optical flow estimating unit and a video encoder(110). The sensors provide vehicle motion information showing the present moving state of the vehicle. The optical flow estimating unit estimates apparent motion of the object within a view of the video camera according to the vehicle motion information. The video encoder compresses the video data transferred by the video camera.
