A broadcasting receiver for having at least one of a function of electronic mirror, and a function of security recording, and a method for controlling the same are provided to obtain self image data by attaching a digital camera at the receiver and to adjust picture quality automatically using the image data. A broadcasting receiver(100) for having at least one of a function of electronic mirror comprises a camera lens(101), a judging part, a camera module(102), a left/right inversion controller(105), and a controller(110). The judging part judges whether a command signal of executing an electronic mirror function is applied. The camera module photographs the image projected to the camera lens when the command signal is applied. The left/right inversion controller reverses the left/right regions when reading out the photographed images. The controller controls the images having the reversed left/right regions to be displayed on the screen.
