摘要 A BCSN(Bi-stable Chiral Splay Nematic) LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having four terminal electrodes is provided to have the same driving characteristics regardless of kinds and thickness of an insulation layer. An upper substrate(300) is located oppositely to a lower substrate(100). A lower electrode(102) is formed on the lower substrate. An insulation layer is formed on a lower electrode. A plus grid electrode(106b) and a minus grid electrode(106a) are formed separately on the insulation layer and apply the electric field horizontally to the lower substrate. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the upper and lower substrates. An upper electrode(302) is formed on the upper plate and oppositely located against the lower substrate and applies the vertical electric field by means of the lower electrode. A lower alignment layer is also formed on the plus grid electrode, minus grid electrode and the insulation layer. An upper alignment layer is also formed on the upper electrode.
