FIELD: sewing industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: apparatus has looper thread hanging hook located in the vicinity of looper end part and disposed upon movement to left-hand front side in right-hand position and on rear side of needle falling site, and hook moving forward and returning back in the same direction, when looper is disposed at right side and on rear side relative to needle falling site. Method involves moving looper to position for advancement at end parp of sewing operation, and urging looper thread hanging hook to advance and return back for catching of looper thread running to rear side of looper, and for holding it on rear side relative to needle falling site; after sewing by making at least one stitch, urging thread cutting hook disposed in said position to advance and return back for catching of looper thread running toward rear side of looper by means of hook first tip portion and for gripping of needle threads and looper thread held by looper thread hanging hook by means of looper second mid portion; providing joint cutting of these threads due to sliding contacting thereof with thread cutting knife. ^ EFFECT: reduced dismantling space and, thereby, wider operational capabilities of apparatus and simplified method. ^ 6 cl, 14 dwg |
