The method involves turning a bottle (4) upside down, such that the neck portion (18) and covered mouth opening of the bottle point downward. The bottle is then analyzed using X-ray. The neck portion or mouth opening of the bottle is set transverse to the longitudinal axis of the bottle with the X-ray irradiated for analyzing the liquid contents of the bottle. The bottle is turned upside down and analyzed during its conveyance along a transport path. The bottle is analyzed at least twice in different directions. An independent claim is also included for the optical image acquisition device.
