<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device, capable of storing data with high reliability while efficiently using a storage capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The device comprises two or more lines of line data sets 10, each set including a plurality of main data DT each of the data having a predetermined bit number of two or more, one or more error correction data EC capable of correcting error of the main data DT, and one line error detection data HD capable of detecting whether at least one of the main data DT and the error correction data EC has error or not.
