PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a stress applied to a cage due to a change in the distance between masts without interposing a damper between the cage and a guide roller. SOLUTION: This stacker crane travels on the tracks installed along storage racks each arranged in multiple stages, and carries loads between the storage racks by lifting a cage in which the loads are contained between the set of masts installed vertically. The cage comprises a main frame on which the loads are placed, a pair of side frames 431 fitted to both ends of the main frame, suspended from the drive device through a lifting cable, and lifted in the state of being brought into contact with the masts, and damping means 49, 413 installed only at the connection part between one of the pair of side frames connected to the main frame and the main frame.
