The invention relates to a radiation-emitting device (1) comprising a radiation-emitting functional layer (2) emitting a primary radiation (4), and a radiation conversion material of general formula Ca_3+x-yEu_xMe_ySiO₄Cl₂ wherein Me is a metal from the group comprising Ba, Sr, Mg, or any combination of these metals. Said material is arranged in the beam path of the radiation-emitting functional layer and at least partially converts the primary radiation into a radiation having a longer wavelength.
