The invention relates to a partially transparent static sun protection device from a flat base (1) that consists of a material which is impermeable to solar radiation and/or is coated with such a material. The base has permeable openings (4, 10, 13) that have an angle-selective permeability to solar radiation, a maximum of the permeability being at an angle of incidence of ? 90° of the solar radiation in relation to the plane of the base (1). The openings (4, 10, 13) of the sun protection device are introduced into the base by mere local machining. The sun protection device according to the invention can be easily adapted to the most varied requirements during manufacture.
