<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain organic dye for a color filter, which maintains dispersibility in a liquid state of resist, has a slight influence on a cured film caused by a residue of a decomposition product in a coating film, reduction in performance of a coating film and decrease in mass by gasification, a strain of the coating film, etc., a resist for a color filter and the color filter. <P>SOLUTION: The organic dye forms an acrylic acid derivative represented by chemical formula (1) or a radical represented by chemical formula (2) (wherein, X is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group such as methyl, butyl or the like) by destruction of a side chain during light exposure to a coating film of resist or during post baking.
