<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin rear projector, having a projector that can be used for both front projection and rear projection, and to provide a cabinet and projector for the rear projector. <P>SOLUTION: The rear projector 1 includes the cabinet 11; a screen 21; the projector 31 that has a wide-angle projection lens 55 detachable from the front face of the cabinet 11; and the mirror 41. Mathematical Formula (1) is satisfied by defining distance g<SB>1</SB>(mm), between the exit pupil of the projection lens 55 and the mirror 41; distance g<SB>2</SB>(mm) between the mirror 41 and the screen 21; the diagonal angle dimension a (inch) of the screen 21, and the width/length ratio of the screen 21 (e/f), and the diagonal field angle (half angle) θ of the projection lens 55. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
