<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, wherein brightness of a display image is not lowered even when displaying an image having a narrow visual range and, moreover, a region (dark part) where no display is performed is not generated when displaying an image having a wide visual range. <P>SOLUTION: The display device is provided with: a display panel 1 having a plurality of pixel groups A, B; and a multi-view-point forming member 8 of restricting visual ranges 5, 6 of respective images which are displayed by the respective pixel groups A, B, such that the visual ranges 5, 6 of respective images are partially crossed to each other. The display device has a first display mode in which a significant image can be recognized when the images of the pixel groups A, B are simultaneously observed on a cross part 9 of the plurality of visual ranges 5, 6 and, on the other hand, the significant image can not be recognized when the images of the pixel groups A, B are observed on single visual ranges 5, 6 besides the cross part 9. The display device has, changeably from the first mode, a second mode in which the significant image can be recognized either when the images of the pixel groups A, B are simultaneously observed on the cross part or when the images of the respective pixel groups A, B are observed on single visual ranges 5, 6 besides the cross part 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
