<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy which can stably be used under wider environments, and to provide its use and its producction process. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the 1A group or the 2A group metal-Ti alloy, in which Ti or Ti alloy and the 1A group or the 2A group metal are contained and the concentration of this metal in the range of depth of at least 10μm from this surface is at least 0.2 atom% and the total content of this metal in this alloy is 0.001-0.5 atom%, by bringing Ti or Ti alloy (except the 1A group or the 2A group metal-Ti alloy) 5 into contact with the molten material 7 or the gaseous material or the 1A group or the 2A group metal at the melting point or higher of this metal and in the stable temperature range ofβ-Ti.
