The apparatus comprises a frame (10) supporting two fixtures (12, 16), of which at least one is movable (16), and which have respective crescents (14, 18) adapted to be brought together to form a circular profile engageable with the big end of a connecting rod (19) and separable by an opening device for fracturing the big end of the connecting rod. The opening device comprises a pusher device (36) which has a sloping surface (38) and is slidably supported with respect to one of said crescents (14) to abut against the other crescent (18), and a driving member (28), which is slidable transversely to the pusher device (36) under control of driving means (30), and has a sloping surface (28a) that is adapted to cooperate with a camming action with the sloping surface (38) of the pusher device (36). |
