An apparatus and a method for providing functions according to user setting are provided to supply only functions set according to user demand in relation to broadcast data of a TV system. Various user demand functions are provided according to functions and levels and then the execution state of the function is received from a user if a user demand function menu is selected(S101). The function demanded and set by a user is stored(S105). It is determined whether the received data are included in the function demanded and set if broadcast data are received(S107). The demanded and set function is applied to provide corresponding data. If the received data are not included in the demanded and set function, it is determined if the received data are stored and set by the user(S110). If received data are stored and set by the user, corresponding data are stored in a memory(S111). If the received data are not stored and set by the user, the data are ignored. |
