ATTITUDE SENSING DEVICE FOR SADDLE RIDING TYPE VEHICLE, ENGINE CONTROLLER, AND SADDLE RIDING TYPE VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attitude sensing device for sensing the pitch angle of a vehicle without directing the sensing direction of an acceleration sensor which senses acceleration in two directions to the cross direction of the vehicle.

SOLUTION: The attitude sensing device is provided with: an acceleration sensing means for sensing an acceleration component Adown of the gravity acceleration G of the vertical direction D2 of the vehicle and acceleration components Alr of the gravity acceleration G of a horizontal direction D1; and a pitch angle detection means for calculating the rate of the projection component Avert of the gravity acceleration on a plane vertical to the cross direction D of the vehicle to the gravity acceleration G as a value corresponding to a pitch angle ϕ by using the acceleration component Adown in the vertical direction D2 and the acceleration component Alr in the horizontal direction D1.
