<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery whose discharge capacity does not decrease significantly with a decreasing temperature and which has a positive electrode containing graphite powder used as a positive electrode material. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery includes the positive electrode containing graphite powder as the positive electrode material that occludes and discharges electrolytic anions to carry out charge and discharge, a negative electrode material which occludes and discharges lithium metal or lithium ions to carry out charge and discharge, and an organic electrolytic liquid made of an organic solvent containing lithium salt. The organic solvent is a compound represented by the general formula (1), where X<SP>1</SP>, X<SP>2</SP>, and X<SP>3</SP>each stands for an atom selected independently from a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom, and at least one of them stands for a fluorine atom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
