<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the controller of a permanent magnet synchronous motor in which noise of the motor can be reduced while securing reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of a permanent magnet synchronous motor comprises a permanent magnet synchronous motor connected with the AC power output end of an inverter and having magnetic saliency in the rotor, a means for detecting the pole position of the rotor of permanent magnet synchronous motor only when the rotor is driving, and a means for detecting the pole position of the rotor of permanent magnet synchronous motor when the rotor is stopping. The inverter is controlled based on the information from the pole position detection means during motor operation when the rotor is rotating, and controlled based on the information from the pole position detection means during motor stoppage when the rotor is stopping. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
