PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain energy consumption of a surface elastic wave and reflection of the surface elastic wave, to accurately detect a circulation signal of the surface elastic wave, and to accurately measure a temperature of a propagation route. SOLUTION: This spherical surface elastic wave element 10 is formed with a fine line pattern 13 in parallel to an interdigital electrode 12, at a fine line interval L to satisfy a relational expression of V<SB>S</SB>/S=N×(V<SB>L</SB>/2L), in a position on the propagation route 11S different form a formation position of the interdigital electrode 12, where V<SB>S</SB>is a propagation speed of the surface elastic wave in the formation position of the interdigital electrode, V<SB>L</SB>is a propagation speed of the surface elastic wave in the formation position of the fine line pattern, S is an electrode cycle of the reed-screen-like electrode, L is the fine line interval of the fine line pattern and N is natural number.
