A detection apparatus and an engine control unit are provided to permit air flowing along an intake pipe to be introduced into an engine in a stable manner and improve control of fuel injection of the engine. A detection apparatus includes an outer packaging resin(7), a sensor module(10), an intake air pressure detection unit(12), an intake air temperature detection unit(13), and a base(1). The outer packaging resin is integrated with a terminal(9) having one end which is exposed. The sensor module is accommodated into the outer packaging resin, and has a lead frame(11) connected to the other end of the terminal. The intake air pressure detection unit is electrically connected to the lead frame, and detects pressure of air in an intake pipe. The intake air temperature detection unit is electrically connected to the lead frame, and detects temperature of air in the intake pipe. The base has one end connected to the outer packaging resin, and has a vent hole for guiding air in the intake pipe to the intake air pressure detection unit and the intake air temperature detection unit. The intake air pressure detection unit and the intake air temperature detection unit are constituted by independent bodies.
