<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which an error can be specified easily at the time of maintenance or inspection by not presenting a print format set by a user but presenting the determination process of an actually performed print state as a report. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a means used by a user for setting the print format of image data, and a means for printing the print state when print of the image data is performed from a print format set by the setting means.
