<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique setting the allowable transmission torque of a roller type clutch high, in a torque transmission device 1 for starting an engine with the built-in roller type clutch excellent in wear durability. <P>SOLUTION: A roller retainer 16 used for the clutch is formed by annularly rolling up a metallic long plate, a rectangular opening 21 is formed into the circumferential surface of the retainer by the number of rollers, and also a plate spring 17 is formed by bending into an approximately V-shape a platelike part cut up when the opening 21 is formed. By such structure, a space required for arranging a pushing-pressing means (plate spring 17) on a circumference can be reduced in comparison with a case using a coil spring. As a results, since the number of rollers storable on the circumference is increased in comparison with the existing roller type clutch using the coil spring, allowable transmission torque is increased, and a high transmission torque type clutch with excellent wear durability can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
