PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry, agitating and continuous type method for fermenting methane, capable of producing the methane gas from organic waste materials having a high solid material concentration in a good efficiency, and a device for the same. SOLUTION: This dry, agitating and continuous type method for fermenting methane comprises a process of carrying in the organic waste materials, a process of adjusting the water content of the organic waste materials by using an aerobic microorganism group, a process of conveying the organic waste materials by an air tight type taking-in conveyer, and a process of agitating the organic waste materials up and down by an agitating conveyer traveling on a rail installed in a methane main fermentation vessel while spraying methane fermentation bacteria solution, housing the methane gas by a gas hood stretched in the methane main fermentation vessel, sucking and recovering the methane gas from a methane gas-taking out port installed at the upper part of the methane main fermentation vessel and also conveying out the remaining organic waste materials in the methane main fermentation vessel by utilizing an air tight type taking-out conveyer to a compost-maturing yard.
