PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for thawing a lump of frozen meat by which the whole of the lump of frozen meat to be treated can be extremely homogeneously thawed thoroughly into its inner part in a short time without deteriorating the quality of the meat. SOLUTION: The method for thawing a lump of frozen meat comprises charging the lump of frozen meat into a rotary drum, and rotating the rotary drum while circulating warm water in a warm-water jacket mounted on a rotary drum body under reduced pressure of≤30 mmHg.
