PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a board-inspecting apparatus compact, and preferably, to improve its workability. SOLUTION: The board inspecting apparatus 1 has a unitary configuration, wherein a board holding mechanism for holding and moving a printed-circuit board P, a photographing mechanism for photographing the board P, a controller 63 for making a quality determination based on image data, a liquid crystal display panel 4 for displaying an inspection result, and the like are assembled in a common base frame 10, and a casing Ca covers them externally. Furthermore, a removing/loading port 6 of the board P and an inspection section of the board P (position for photographing the board by using a photographing unit 50) are arranged in anteroposterior manner, such that the inspection section is disposed above the removing/loading port 6; and the board-holding mechanism is configured so as to move a table 30 in an oblique direction, while maintaining a state with the board P being held by the table 30, such that its surface to be inspected looks upward.
