PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact towing type flying body for monitoring, easy to maintain a proper height even if the moving speed of a moving body and wind velocity are increased and easy to maintain stable posture in the sky, in regard to a towing type flying body for monitoring comprising a monitoring means for monitoring at least downward and a means to be towed by the moving body. SOLUTION: This towing type flying body for monitoring comprises a rotary shaft 52 having rotary blades 52a and arranged so that the axis thereof is arranged in the nearly vertical direction, and main bodies 3, 4 and 51 rotatably supporting the rotary shaft 52. The main bodies 3, 4 and 51 comprise the monitoring means 71 and the towed means 8, and when the main bodies 3, 4 and 51 are towed by the movement of the moving body 2 through the towed means 8. the rotary blades 52a receive the wind, rotate and fly. the rotary shaft 52 is pivotally supported by the main bodies 3, 4 and 51 so that the speed of revolution is increased/decreased with an increase/decrease of the wind power applying to the rotary blades 52a.
