<p>An electronic device (PC2) is provided with a function of reproducing recorded data from a recording medium (DVD-Video38) and is capable of being driven by a battery (16). The electronic device is provided with a control section (12), which compares the remaining capacity of the battery prior to or during reproduction with power consumption required for reproducing the recorded data, and when the power consumption exceeds the remaining capacity, the control section controls reproduction of the recorded data corresponding to the remaining capacity. The control section compares the power consumption with the remaining capacity of the battery, obtains a reproduction speed at which reproduction of the entire recorded data or reproduction of recorded data in a specific range can be performed, and controls the reproduction of the recording medium at such reproduction speed.</p> |
