PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel herbicide which exhibits an excellent herbicidal effect over a wide application range such as a farming area and a nonfarming area and a wide application method range such as soil treatment and stem and leaf treatment. SOLUTION: A benzoyl pyrazole type compound is represented by formula (I) (wherein R1is an alkyl or a cycloalkyl; R2is hydrogen or an alkyl; R3is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, a haloalkyl, an alkoxyalkyl, an alkenyl or the like; R4is an alkyl, a haloalkyl, an alkoxy, a halogen, nitro, cyano or the like; R5is hydrogen, an alkyl, a haloalkyl, an alkoxyalkyl, a haloalkoxyalkyl, an alkoxy, a haloalkoxy or the like; and R6is a haloalkyl, a halogen, nitro, cyano or the like) or its salt.
