PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vehicle driving support system supporting to give way to an emergency vehicle at an appropriate state without inducing a driver is mistake nor annoying a driver because of continued support. SOLUTION: An ECU 5 for achieving the driving support system includes an emergency vehicle position/approach decision block 5A for identifying the position of an emergency vehicle using other vehicle information obtained via an inter-vehicle communication unit 2, navigation information, driving state information, etc. and for deciding whether the emergency vehicle is approaching its own-vehicle; a communication control block 5B for stabilizing communication with the emergency vehicle approaching the own-vehicle; an avoidance action decision block 5C for deciding whether the own-vehicle has given way to the emergency vehicle; and an information provision block 5D for providing information (alarm) by modifying support contents depending on the presence of the avoidance action by the own-vehicle.
