PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding machine provided with a folding cylinder piercing a front end part of sheet by a needle, conveying it, and delivering a defective sheet without using human labor to prevent sheet jamming due to improper signature. SOLUTION: This folding machine of the rotary printing machine is composed of a sheet supporting device 18 capable of operating into an attaching condition for supporting the front end part of a sheet 17 on a peripheral face of the folding cylinder 7 and a detaching condition for opening the front end part of the supported sheet, an attachment and detachment driving mechanism 40 for operating the sheet supporting device 18 for attachment and detachment, a delivery device 42 for delivering the defective sheet to the outside of the machine through the peripheral face of the folding cylinder 7 by inserting a claw member 50 between the peripheral face of the folding cylinder 7 and the front end part of the defective sheet when delivering the defective sheet 17, and a controller 41 for controlling the attachment and detachment driving mechanism 40 to separate the defective sheet from the peripheral face of the folding cylinder 7 and let it leave the peripheral face when inserting the claw member 50 between the peripheral face of the folding cylinder 7 and the front end part of sheet 17 by the delivery device 42.
