PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range hood with a straightening vane in a lower face opening portion, having simple construction for closing a suction clearance during no use of the range hood to make the lower face of a hood part flush with the lower face of the straightening vane. SOLUTION: The range hood comprises a blower unit 3 for exhausting oily smoke generated in cooking to the outside, the approximately boxed hood part 4 having the opening portion 5 on the lower face, and the rectangular straightening vane 6 provided in the opening portion 5 on the lower face of the hood part 4 for increasing the speed of suction air. During no use of the range hood, the straightening vane 6 is moved up so that the opening portion 5 on the lower face of the hood part 4 is closed to make the lower face of the hood part 4 flush with the lower face of the straightening vane 6. Thus, the range hood has a good appearance because of out-of-sight contamination inside a hood body and evenness on the lower face of the hood. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
